Educate • Inspire • Empower
Real music industry education for aspiring artists, producers, and young executives. From campus workshops to city-to-city conferences, we deliver the knowledge the industry won't teach you.
New Power Classes is the education arm of DJ Ya Boy Earl's mission to equip the next generation with real, actionable music industry knowledge. Through conferences, campus tours, workshops, and his acclaimed book, Earl delivers what schools and the internet can't — actual industry experience from someone who's lived it.

Artists Earl Has Worked With
Programs
Three core programs designed to educate, equip, and empower the next generation of music industry professionals. Each program is tailored for different audiences and settings.
A national campus-based music industry education tour. Free to schools, the BTBT brings career fairs, instructional workshops, industry panels, and live talent showcases directly to high school and college students.
The only interactive traveling music conference where artists actually work on their careers. RSMC equips artists with tangible promotional materials and real industry training. Every single artist leaves a winner.
Focused workshops and private seminars covering the business fundamentals every artist and aspiring executive needs. Topics range from marketing and promotions to contracts, artist management, and breaking records.
Conference Experience
At RSMC, artists get a fully interactive experience. Traditional music conferences leave artists empty-handed, but at RSMC every artist leaves with multiple tangible things they can use in their pursuit of success.
Recorded video freestyle. Best clips featured on YouTube and media outlets.
Professional on-camera interview focused on career aspirations. Edited and delivered to you.
Your single featured on a compilation mixtape with all participating artists.
Learn from experienced industry leaders, managers, attorneys, radio hosts, and DJs.
7-minute stage set judged on presence, lyrical content, and entertainment value.
Every participant receives a free copy of "How To Be A Rap Star."
Behind The Beat Format
Radio stations, studios, producers, managers, music tech companies, lawyers, colleges, and live demos — all under one roof.
Earl teaches paperwork, artist development, rollout strategy, label structure, publishing, and music technology.
Moderated Q&A with industry professionals — artists, producers, engineers, label reps, DJs, attorneys, and content creators.
Open mic showcase for rap, singing, spoken word, DJ sets, and live instruments. Judged by the day's panelists.
The Book
The book every rapper, label, and aspiring executive has been looking for. Real industry knowledge in a way that's understandable and actionable.
Earl has developed an effective system and process on how to be successful in the music industry, all captured in his debut book. Page by page, you'll be illuminated with the knowledge of the industry you "kind of" knew but never really had anyone tell you.
This is not a book full of motivational stories. It has actual industry knowledge that you can use to be successful. Every chapter reflects the author's genuine desire to help independent record labels and artists.
Impact
Feedback from students, campus administrators, and event hosts.
Earl's message is so beneficial and life changing to the next generation of aspiring artists and young industry executives. The students were engaged from start to finish.
This wasn't your typical sit-and-listen seminar. My artists actually left with tangible things they could use immediately. The freestyle booth alone was worth the trip.
I've been to industry panels that feel scripted. This felt real. Earl knows what he's talking about because he's actually been in the trenches. The book was the cherry on top.
